Knightdale Fall Events

The inaugural “Dogtoberfest” will take place this Saturday, October 24 at Ashley Wilder Dog Park, directly across from the playground at Knightdale Station Park. This family friendly town of Knightdale Fall Event will kick off at 1:00 p.m. and run until 4:00.

The festivities at the Knightdale Fall Event will begin with check in for the town’s first ever “2K9” walk and run from 1:00-1:45 p.m. Prizes will be given out at the conclusion of the race, which loops around Knightdale Station Park. In addition to being rewarded for their finish placement, the first one hundred participants to sign up receive a goody bag when the prizes are given out at the conclusion of the “2K9” race at 2:45.

Staying in the theme of the season at this Saturday’s Knightdale Fall Event, at 3:00 p.m., the “day for the dogs” continues with a costume contest for dogs that will be judges by local girl scouts and prizes donated by The Vets Pets given out in a variety of categories.

Throughout the day long festivities at “Dogtoberfest” the Wake County Animal Shelter will have a booth set up with information and availability to adopt a dog. Likewise, there will be Trick or Treating for the dogs throughout the three hour Knightdale Fall Event, with local businesses participating.

As is the case with all town of Knightdale Fall Events, the local businesses and community will be represented very strongly at Dogtoberfest. Participants this Saturday will include the event’s “Dog Bowl Level Sponsor,” The Vets Pets and the “Chew Toy Level Sponsor,” the Berkshire Park Apartments. Additional participants include The Soapy Dog, Girl Scouts, Suite Paws Pet Resort & Spa, Smithfield Road Veterinary Hospital, Oak City Brewing, Knightdale Animal Hospital, Wake Veterinary Hospital, Wake Veterinary Urgent Care, Five County Spay/Neuter Clinic, Knightdale Pet Resort,  Nora & Ally (dog collar flowers), Buster Brown Doggie Treats, Triangle Sheltie Rescue, Boxer Rescue, and Barking Lot Treats.
