Knightdale Family Event to celebrate “National Bike Month”…at the Station

Knightdale Family Event

Celebrating “National Bike Month,” this Saturday, May 21 from 10:00 am-Noon, the annual Knightdale Family Event, “Psyched About Bikes” is a great way for the whole family to come out to Knightdale Station Park and get an education on bike safety while enjoying some “fun in the sun” as well.

The “Psyched About Bikes” Knightdale Family Event will be host to a wide variety of bicycle activities that will not only stress bike safety, but also teach youngsters and adults alike the “rules of the road” while riding.

The festivities at this Saturday’s bike-themed Knightdale Family Event will kick off at 10:00 sharp with the “Bike Rodeo,” which is open to all ages. Keeping within the safety and regulations theme of the day, the “Rack and Ride Bus Demonstration” will once again be a part of the events at “Psyched About Bikes.” This hands on, learning experience at the Knightdale Family Event will see members of the local police and fire departments lending a hand.

Likewise, representatives from these same organizations, the Knightdale Fire Department, as well as the police departments from Knightdale, Zebulon, and Rolesville will be involved throughout the Knightdale family event , interacting with the children through a series of fun, yet informational activities promoting bike safety, stressing the usage of proper equipment and detailing the safest methods of riding for all children of all different age sets and kill levels.

There will also be many great prize giveaways at this Saturday’s Knightdale Family Event courtesy of the Parks and Recreation Department.  Many members of the local community have partnered up with the Town of Knightdale to help celebrate “National Bike Month” and make “Psyched About Bikes” possible. Helping with this years’ event are the following organizations, Active Routes to School, Go Triangle, Triangle Off-Road Cyclists, and Performance Bike of Raleigh.

“Psyched About Bikes” will be held in conjunction with another great Knightdale Family Event this Saturday, the Knightdale Farmers Market, which will also be going on at Knightdale Station Park.
