Knightdale Christmas on First Avenue to bring in the holiday season…at the Station!

Knightdale's Christmas on First Avenue

No one rings in the holiday season like the Town of Knightdale and their annual Knightdale Christmas on First Avenue celebration. Kicking off this year’s weekend of yuletide events will be the always spectacular Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Friday, December 4th, from 6-8pm at the Knightdale Station Park Amphitheater.

The first day of the Knightdale Christmas on First Avenue, the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony,  will be chocked full of fun for the kids, as it will  include such great holiday activities as , Letters to Santa, visiting with Mrs. Claus and the head elves, , music and a visit from Santa Claus himself! There will be food trucks on hand for the festivities at Knightdale Station during the tree lighting ceremony, as C&J Funnel Cakes, BaguettaboutitStuft, and the Knightdale Lions Club, who will be serving up free hot chocolate and hot cider to keep everyone warm will all be a part of the event. The star level sponsors for this years Knightdale Christmas on First Avenue tree lighting event are Cricket Wireless of Knightdale and Zaxby’s of Knightdale.

As if the majestic tree lighting ceremony is not enough to get everyone filled with holiday cheer, the Knightdale Christmas on First Avenue celebration continues the following day with the annual Christmas Parade. This year’s parade will feature a very special “Grand Marshall,” as local YouTube sensation, Johanna Colon will be doing the honors. Kicking off on on Saturday, December 5th at 2pm in downtown Knightdale, the parade route will be the same as last years’ beginning at the parking lot at Knightdale Elementary School and finishing up at the Knightdale Station Park. Christmas Parade food trucks to include the popular and delicious seafood offerings of Cousins Maine Lobster among others will be located at Main Street and First Avenue as well as in the parking lot of Northside Community Church.
