Adding to what has already become a staple of the community and host of many of the area’s most popular family events, construction has begun on the third phase of Knightdale Station Park, which will see several great upgrades and long awaited venues being completed on site.
The Knightdale Station Park Amphitheatre will be constructed as a part of the new construction project that was started on Monday, March 12. In a tribute to all of the great and brave men and women who have served our country and reside or come from Knightdale, the Knightdale Veteran’s Memorial is also being erected as a part of this construction phase.
Adding to the park and surrounding Knightdale Station area’s already “outdoor living friendly” reputation will be a new “pedestrian promenade” as a portion of the work that is just underway and with these additions, a necessary expansion of the parking lot at Knightdale Station Park will see an extra 130 parking spaces open up at the location.
The Phase III construction will be ongoing for several months, as the planned date of completion is November 2018. All events that have been planned will still be going on, and the park will remain open during this construction phase. On Saturday, March, 24, two events will take place simultaneously at Knightdale Station Park, just as they have in each of the past proceeding years, giving the entire family a chance to enjoy what has become the top tradition in Knightdale Spring Holiday Events, when on Saturday, March 24, both the popular Easter Eggstrordinaire and Paws in the Parks Event will take place …at the Station.
