Recently released was the annual rankings and poll by the highly accredited website, safewise.com, which lists on a yearly basis its Top 100 Safest Cities in North Carolina. Once again, as has been constant with every year of this process, and also justifying you opting to move you and your family not only to one of the Triangle area’s most sought after new home neighborhoods, but also one that lends the perfect setting for raising your children, Knightdale Station, the town of Knightdale has once again been recognized as a part of this prestigious list.
Heaping praise on the town of Knightdale for its youthfulness and focus on active outdoor living in addition to its high safety ranking that placed it among the Safest Cities in North Carolina, the Safewise article said, “Young, vibrant, and affordable are just a few key words that describe this Raleigh metro area community.” The piece continued, “Packed with parks and greenways, Knightdale is committed to creating outdoor space that brings families out of their homes and helps them get to know their neighbors.”
The experts at Safewise actually give a direct tip of their cap to Knightdale Station specifically as one of the great reasons to live in the town as the article moves along, saying, “Knightdale Station is a state-of-the-art green space that’s still growing, but already offers a children’s playground, dog park, walking and running trails, and athletic fields.” Giving its full endorsement to Knightdale as not only one of the Safest Cities in North Carolina, but also as one that is “on the rise,” the Safewise article concludes, saying, “If you’re searching for an active family lifestyle at an affordable price, Knightdale is a sure bet. You’ll also appreciate its high marks for safety.
In coming up with their annual tally of the Safest Cities in NC, the experts at Safewise explain on their website, “We’ve paired the most recent FBI Crime Report, with our own independent examination to ring you North Carolina’s top 50 safest cities to settle in.” It goes on to explain that all North Carolina municipalities with a population of at least 5,000 residents as of 2012 were analyzed in their study of the Safest Cities in NC. Continuing on to explain the rankings process, Safewise noted, “We analyze the number of Violent Crimes, consisting of aggravated assault, forcible rape, murder, and robbery, as well as Property Crimes, consisting of arson, burglary, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft.” Once analyzed, the final ranking numbers are then calculated basing the chances upon each crime happening out of 1,000 to make the system even for basing it upon the municipalities with widely varying populations.

A “delicious” summer and fall tradition continues to Knightdale Station Park through the month of October, as you can support your local farmers and businesses while picking up some of the freshest produce you will find anywhere at the Knightdale Farmers Market.
Striving to give area vendors an outlet to supply local residents with the best seasonal produce around as well as high quality handmade and homemade goods, while giving them a greater awareness of local agriculture and a place to sell their goods, the Knightdale Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from May through October.
Another weekly feature at the Knightdale Farmers Market are the always popular Food Trucks. With the enormous popularity of both the “Food Truck Thursday” events and the “Food Truck Rodeos” held at Knightdale Station Park, the Knightdale Parks and Recreation Department officials who organize the Knightdale Farmers Market decided to bring in the trucks each Saturday this year as well.
The “Drive-Thru Market” is also still available at the Knightdale Farmers Market. This will be available during those weeks when the weather is not cooperating. In case of rain or inclement weather, there will be updates via social media to announce that the “Drive-Thru Market” will be taking place and you can pick up your goods while still in your car at the coned off area along Station Run Road. The “Drive-Thru Market” will be open weekly regardless of weather to cater to those with handicap tags, so they too can enjoy the fresh local tastes available each Saturday.
There will be live music provided by some of the area’s most popular local acts at most of the Knightdale Farmers Market events throughout the summer and for the little ones in the family, “Kids Corner” will be open and follow along with activities in accordance with each weekly theme.
