Knightdale Parks and Recreation will be celebrating its newest annual seasonal event, as for the second straight year, the Knightdale Family Fall Event, “Mumkin Fest” will take place on Friday, September 28th andSaturday, September 29th… at the Station.  

Back basically by popular demand the first day of festivities at this Knightdale Fall Family Event kick off at Knightdale Station Park beginning at 6:00 pm and will feature a fun and fantastic night of great food choices and fantastic music. The sounds of live local bands will fill the air, as you, your family, and friends can enjoy an array of tastes while you browse and select what delicious choices you decide to make among the many food trucks set to be on hand at this Knightdale Fall Family Event. The Parks and Recreation department encourages you to bring your lawn chairs and/or blankets to get a comfortable spot on the lawn to enjoy the day one action at “Mumkin Fest.”

Day two of the Knightdale Fall Family Event that has become the newest among many great seasonal traditions in the town starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Just as there were on the opening night, the catchy tunes of some of the area’s most popular music acts will take the stage throughout the day and the food trucks will again return to give you many mouthwatering options all day long. In addition to this, the kids will for sure want to come enjoy the inflatables or have the whole family join in on a hayride during the second day of “Mumkin Fest.” They will also be able to pick pumpkins and take part in a variety of pumpkin and fall themed activities at the “Mum and Pumpkin patches” on site.” For the adults on hand, there will also this year be a beer garden featuring some of the finest local brews offered in the area at this years’ Knightdale Fall Family Event.

“Mumkin Fest” will begin as stated above on Friday, September 28 from 6-9 pm, and will continue at Knightdale Station Park on Saturday, September 29 at 10:00 am and run through until 7:00 pm. The community group, Knightdale Neighbors, is presenting an event on Sunday, September 16 at the pavilions located at Knightdale Station Park, called “Meet Knightdale,” giving youngsters and their families a chance to become familiar with all the Knightdale Youth Sports options, teams, and programs available to them in a fun filled afternoon.

For those unfamiliar with the group, Knightdale Neighbors was formed by a group of residents to “bring the people of Knightdale and East Wake County together.” It was noted on their Facebook page that in addition to the event upcoming for families interested in Knightdale Youth Sports, that they also try to create a feeling of community spirit and unity by doing the following things.

1) Providing a centralized page for community events.

2) Giving people the opportunity to ask and give each other recommendations.

3) Creating a forum for community information.

4) Highlighting local businesses

According to their Facebook page in a post speaking about the upcoming event focused don Knightdale Youth Sports, “This event is to showcase the awesome sports and activities available to Knightdale’s youth.” The post went on to explain, “As mothers in this community, we believe it’s important to know all of the options available to your child.”

On top of having the chance to explore the many Knightdale Youth Sports options, kids will have an opportunity to have some fun at “Meet Knightdale,” as there will be a host of fun vendors and activities including Face Painting by Ella and the local favorite G&H Ice Cream, who will be serving up their delicious homemade frozen treats at the event. Food trucks will also be on hand and there will be plenty of great give always as a part of the Knightdale Neighbors raffle, including the chance to win your child one year of free tuition at The Dance Center in Knightdale.

It’s all about the kids this weekend…at the Station, as from 11:00 am-8:00 pm on Saturday, September 8, Knightdale Station Park host the annual Knightdale Arts and Education Festival, focusing this year’s event on “S.T.E.A.M.” (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math)

Listing the event’s  mission statement on its official website as, “Understanding that education is the pathway to success, the mission of the Knightdale Arts and Education Festival is to connect community members with local non-profits, educational, wellness and cultural arts opportunities they may not otherwise be exposed to.”

The article at went on to detail the Knightdale Arts and Education Festival as…a collaborative effort of community partners plays an important role in strengthening the educational component in Knightdale and Eastern Wake County.”

The Knightdale Arts and Education Festival (known in previous years as K-Fest) will take place this year on Saturday, September 8, and begins at 11:00 am and runs until 8:00 pm. As always, the Knightdale Arts and Education Festival will be held at Knightdale Station Parkand this years’ event has a main focus on the elements of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math).

Vendors will be on hand to provide interactive activities for participants to have an enriched festival experience. S.T.E.A.M. is a “movement championed by Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and widely adopted by institutions, corporations and individuals.”
