An annual holiday tradition at Knightdale Station gets even better if that’s possible! As the Knightdale slogan goes, “This is the best time of the year!” Thus, with both traditional Knightdale Christmas Events on the same night and a chance to “start something festive,” this may be the “best time” yet! On Saturday, December 7, the schedule “flips” this year for the “Christmas on First Avenue” festivities…at the Station!

Knightdale Christmas Events, including the Tree Lighting are an annual holiday tradition.

“Turning it Around” at the 2019 Knightdale Christmas Events

The most anticipated Knightdale holiday celebration of all, Christmas on First Avenue is back on December 7. However, unlike in years prior, the Knightdale Christmas Events this year will both take place on the same day.

Likewise, there will be a later start time to this years’ Knightdale Christmas Events, with “Tree Lightning” starting at 5:00 p.m. Consequently, the annual Knightdale Christmas Parade will follow as we attempt to “light up” the holiday season.

“Lighting Up ” the Parade for the Very First Time!

The Knightdale Christmas Parade will take place after the Tree Lighting ceremony.

Once again, the second of the two traditional Christmas Events, the Parade, will take place following the tree lighting. This is not the only “reversal” in this years’ Christmas Parade, as the route has also been flipped.

That being said, the Parade will start at 6:30 p.m. on Knightdale Station Run. Then moving opposite as it has in years’ past, the route will head down First Avenue and then to Fayetteville Street.

Being that the Christmas Parade will take place “under the stars” for the first time, the Knightdale Parks and Recreation Department at the official event site urges those entering a float to, “BRING ON THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!”

Schedule for Knightdale “Christmas on First Avenue” on Friday, December 7

5:00- 6:00 p.m.- Christmas Tree Lighting

6:30-8:00 p.m.- Christmas Parade

There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for best parade float entries. For further details and information on this year’s’ Knightdale Christmas Events’,
