On Saturday, September 10 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Knightdale Station Park will play host to a very special first time event to put a spotlight on the talents and creativity of the children in our community, while offering up a day full of fun for the whole family as the Knightdale Parks and Recreation Department presents the inaugural Knightdale Kids Festival (K-Fest) event.
The first ever Knightdale Kids Festival is a combined effort, as all of the area schools, as well as countless organizations with in the community have banded together to showcase the great work and efforts of the youth in the Knightdale area and those dedicated to strengthening their education and futures. As quoted on the official Town of Knightdale website, the mission of the inaugural Knightdale Kids Festival is “Understanding that education is the pathway to success, the mission of K-Fest is to connect youth with local non-profits, educational and cultural arts opportunities they may not otherwise be exposed to. This collaborative effort of community partners plays an important role in strengthening the educational component in Knightdale and Eastern Wake County.”
Throughout the day at Knightdale Kids Festival, children of all ages from area elementary, middle, and high schools will be performing in a variety of events, showcasing their vast skills in many areas. The highlights throughout the day that the kids will be a major part of at this community themed event will include:
- Student Talent Showcase
- Local Artists
- Interactive Art Stations
- Book Mobile and Reading Corner
- Early Childhood Zone
- Backpack and School Supply give away and so much more
On top of all of those great activities, there will also be plenty of other entertainment, food and beverages, and all around family fun to enjoy at the Knightdale Kids Festival. As has become tradition at Knightdale Station Park events, there will be a big selection of food trucks on hand serving up tasty goodies hat can please any appetite. The food trucks set to be on site at the Knightdale Kids Festival are:

- Phonomenal Dumplings
- Chick N Que
- Virgil’s Jamaica
- Captain Cookie
- Rollin’ Dogs
- C&J Funnel Cakes.
In addition to all of these great things going on throughout the day at the first ever Knightdale Kids Festival there will also be live music and performers from some of the most popular local acts throughout the festivities. There will also be games and several inflatables for the children to play, and the Knightdale Farmers Market will be going on as regularly scheduled also.
With over 50 community organizations and businesses supporting the Knightdale Kids Festival as a partner or sponsor and 15 different schools or educational partners from the area lending a hand as well, this community based event is certain to become a Knightdale tradition to showcase our children.
