3rd Annual Cupid Run set for take off…at the Station

In the same vein as the numerous Knightdale Holiday Events held at Knightdale Station that have become tradition, the town’s parks and recreation department will be hosting the 3rd Annual annual Valentine’s Day themed, five kilometer “Cupid Run,” this upcoming Saturday, February 10.

Based upon the fantastic response and turnout from the community at the inaugural Cupid Run event in 2017, it was some what of a no-brainer for it to be included amongst the calendar of Knightdale Holiday Events for a second straight year. Joining another of the successful Knightdale Holiday Events that has now become an annual tradition in the community, the Turkey Leg 5K, which takes place around Thanksgiving, these “fun runs” not only to give the community another way enjoy a great day of family fun, but they also promote a healthy lifestyle and outdoor living in the local community.

The Cupid Run will kick off at 9:30 a.m. and start in Knightdale Station Park. Registration for the event is on going right now and in addition to taking part in the newest tradition among the Knightdale Holiday Events, by signing up, you will also get a winter hat, a medal for finishing the 5K and a timing bib. In addition to the finisher medals there will also be medals given out to the first, second, and third place male and female finishers. Keeping in the festive and fun feel of all Knightdale Holiday Events, there will also be medals awarded for the “Best Dressed” in accordance with the Valentine’s Day theme, much as they do in November’s “Turkey Leg” event.

There will be refreshments on hand as well at the Cupid Run, and there will be a “Water Table” sponsored by Zaxby’s of Knightdale and Triangle Dental Assisting.

If you have signed up for the 2018 Cupid Run, you can pick up your information packet on the event either at registration on race day at Knightdale Station Park, or at Town Hall, 950 Steeple Square Court in Knightdale on the first floor on Friday, February 9 between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Give Thanks and Get in Shape with Knightdale Holiday Events

The holiday season is one that families and communities alike always look forward to with great joy, and with all of the fantastic Knightdale Holiday Events coming up on the calendar set to kick off as always in late November, you and your family can get in shape and show community spirit at  Knightdale Station on Thanksgiving morning, with the return of the Turkey Leg 5K.

The latest in what seems to be an endless string of town holiday traditions. the annual Turkey Leg 5K  starts at Knightdale Station on Thanksgiving morning, November 23. This popular “fun run/walk” has become a “Turkey Day” tradition in town and starts at 8:30 a.m with registration for the event currently under way.

Regardless of weather conditions, rain, shine, sleet, or snow, the “healthiest” of the Knightdale Holiday Events on the calendar will take place, helping everyone to feel a little less guilty when they indulge in the Thanksgiving Day feast later in the day. Thanksgiving themed attire is encouraged, bu not necessary for the Turkey Leg 5K runners or walkers.

‘Tis the Season for Knightdale Holiday Events

The holiday season is one that families and communities alike always look forward to with great joy, and with all of the fantastic Knightdale Holiday Events coming up on the calendar set to kick off with two in November, you and your family and Knightdale Station are in the perfect location to “deck the halls” and “give thanks” for all of these wonderful activities.

It never hurts to get a jump start on your holiday and Christmas shopping, and the first of several Knightdale Holiday Events not only gives residents a chance to get ahead, but also to buy local and support community businesses at the annual Knightdale Holiday Fair.

The Holiday Fair will be held at the Knightdale Recreation Center on Saturday, November 12 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with over 30 local businesses and vendors expected to be on hand for the first of two Knightdale Holiday Events to help you start (or finish) your holiday shopping.

The second of the Knightdale Holiday Events on the schedule is the annual Turkey Leg 5K which starts at Knightdale Station on Thanksgiving morning, November 24. Food Trucks and Craft Beer to be Featured at Knightdale Holiday Event…at the Station

This Sunday, December 13 the popular “Food Truck Rodeo” series at Knightdale Station Park will be even more festive than usual, as 15 of the Triangle’s most popular food trucks and several local craft breweries will be on hand for another fantastic Town of Knightdale Holiday Event at The RDU Mobile Food Association’s (RDUMFA) “Rudolph’s Holiday Rodeo.”

With the entire town feeling the holiday spirit after last weekends annual “Christmas on First Avenue” festivities, the RDUMFA’s first ever Food Truck Rodeo comes at just the right time and in a perfect setting at Knightdale Station Park. In addition to enjoying the great local tastes and celebrating the season at this great Knightdale Holiday Event, a percentage of the overall sales on the day is being donated to Meals on Wheels of Wake County to help those in need to enjoy a nice meal on Christmas.

There will be a wide assortment of food choices among the Food Trucks that will be on hand between 12 p.m and 4 p.m. at this Sunday’s Knightdale Holiday Event that are sure to satisfy any appetite. The trucks set to be in attendance include: Sarge’s Chef on Wheels, Philly’s Cheesesteaks, Caffe Bellezza, Route Bistro, Dusty Donuts, Stuft, Pho Nomenal Dumpling, Thai Box Zing, CockADoodleMoo, Mama Voula’s, OMG Chicken, Captain Ponchos, Will and Pops, Bo’s Kitchen, and Sweet Traditions. On top of all of these delicious food options, Nickelpoint Brewing Company and Bull City Cider Works.

The entire family, both young and old will have plenty of great food and fun to enjoy at Rudolph’s Holiday Rodeo, as in addition to the 15 trucks, there has been reports that Santa Claus himself has his sleigh ready to take off from the North Pole, with a course set to touch down at this Sunday’s Knightdale Holiday Event.
