The annual holiday tradition, Knightdale Christmas on First Avenue, will be returning toKnightdale Station Parkto ring in the yuletide spirit and the good tidings of the season starting on Friday, November 30 from 6-8 p.m. for theChristmas Tree Lighting Ceremonywith theChristmas Paradefollowing through downtownKnightdalethe following afternoon (Saturday), December 1 with a 2:00 p.m. start.
The tradition that has become Knightdale Christmas on First Avenue will no doubt once again see the community out in full force showing their holiday spirit, as the Tree Lighting Ceremony will have tons of fun filled activities not only for the kids, but for the entire family to enjoy. The youngsters in attendance will have plenty to do, including “Letters to Santa,” visiting and taking pictures with Mrs. Claus and the elves, Christmas themed games and activities, music, live performances, and even a visit from the one and only Santa Claus himself. At the conclusion of the festivities on day one of Knightdale Christmas on First Avenue, the beautiful Christmas tree that sits at Knightdale Station Park. Food trucks will also be on site at the ceremony, serving up food, beverages, and goodies throughout the evening.
This year, the Town of Knightdale will once again add a new “wrinkle” to the holiday traditions local residents have come to love so much, as the weekend festivities on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 6pm-8pm at Knightdale Station Park at the Holiday Fair and Music Celebration. There will as always be all types of different vendors selling Christmas items, a live band playing Christmas music and food trucks.
After night one of Knightdale Christmas on First Avenue gets everybody in the mood, the following day, community dignitaries, businesses, and yes, Santa himself will make a return as a part of the Christmas Parade. As was the case last year, the parade route will start atKnightdale Elementary Schooland end at Knightdale Station Park. Once again, there will be food trucks located at First Avenue and Main Street along the Parade route to curb your hunger as you show support for the passing by floats.

The biggest three factors that are listed as placing Knightdale among the Top 10 Best Suburbs to Live in Raleigh Area is the rich housing market, as earlier stated, the family friendly atmosphere for young families, and the top factor was diversity.

In celebration of “Bike Month,” kids and adults alike will flock to Knightdale Station Park on Saturday, May 19 for another fantastic Knightdale NC family event, “Psyched about Bikes.”
Running from 10 a.m. until noon, “Psyched about Bikes” will serve as host to a wide variety of activities focusing on bike safety, rules of the road, and fun. The town of Knightdale NC family event at the Knightdale Station Park Ampitheatre will begin with a “Bike Rodeo.”
The informative “Rack and Ride Demonstration” and free bike inspections will continue with the day’s theme of educating the cyclists on the safest methods of riding and proper equipment that should be used for all age groups and levels of experience.
The Town of Knightdale will have several great prize giveaways throughout the morning’s festivities and members of both the Knightdale Fire and Police Departments will also be at the event to lend a helping hand. Local vendors including will also be on site to serve up delicious treats throughout the morning.
Many members of the local business community partnered up with the with the Town of Knightdale to help celebrate “Bike Month” and make this event possible. Also helping the Town of Knightdale Parks and Recreation crew will be Active Routes to School, Go Triangle, Go Raleigh, Triangle Off Road Cyclists, and Performance Bike of Raleigh.

In the same vein as the numerous Knightdale Holiday Events held atKnightdale Stationthat have become tradition, the town’s parks and recreation department will be hosting the 3rd Annual annual Valentine’s Day themed, five kilometer“Cupid Run,”this upcoming Saturday, February 10.
Based upon the fantastic response and turnout from the community at the inaugural Cupid Run event in 2017, it was some what of a no-brainer for it to be included amongst the calendar of Knightdale Holiday Events for a second straight year. Joining another of the successful Knightdale Holiday Events that has now become an annual tradition in the community, theTurkey Leg 5K, which takes place around Thanksgiving, these “fun runs” not only to give the community another way enjoy a great day of family fun, but they also promote a healthy lifestyle and outdoor living in the local community.
The Cupid Run will kick off at 9:30 a.m. and start inKnightdale Station Park. Registration for the event is on going right now and in addition to taking part in the newest tradition among the Knightdale Holiday Events, by signing up, you will also get a winter hat, a medal for finishing the 5K and a timing bib. In addition to the finisher medals there will also be medals given out to the first, second, and third place male and female finishers. Keeping in the festive and fun feel of all Knightdale Holiday Events, there will also be medals awarded for the “Best Dressed” in accordance with the Valentine’s Day theme, much as they do in November’s “Turkey Leg” event.
There will be refreshments on hand as well at the Cupid Run, and there will be a “Water Table” sponsored byZaxby’s of KnightdaleandTriangle Dental Assisting.
