With a tentative grand opening date set for September 2015, adding to the already incredible list of amenities on site and nearby the Knightdale Station new home community will be the first Knightdale NC Brewery since prohibition, as Oak City Brewing Company prepares to open its doors at 616 North First Street in the town’s historic downtown area.
The Knightdale NC Brewery is the vision of co-owners Blake Cone and Matt Keeler coming to life in the form of Oak City Brewing Company. After years of talking about the possibility of opening their own brewery, in 2012 they began taking action on a business plan, which after much thought and plenty of batches of their own brew being made in their respective garages and homes in preparation will finally be coming to fruition in the form of their downtown Knightdale NC Brewery.
The Oak City Brewing Company will not only eventually be serving up their own brewing creations, but also will feature a tap house at the historic location that backs up to Knightdale Station Park. Adding to the allure of the Knightdale NC Brewery will be an outdoor Beer Garden. This wide open, dog friendly patio area is close enough to hear any of the bands that may be playing at the Knightdale Station amphitheater and in clear view of the beautiful park located “at the Station.” Upon opening, according to their official website, the Tap House will feature “20 local rotating taps, a bottle/can selection and small menu of local NC wines.” Once given clearance, Oak City will be also be offering 4-5 addition taps, pouring their own beers that are planned to include a Bohemian Pilsner, Red IPA, Oatmeal Stout, a several other seasonal varieties that will be brewed on-site.
