“Great Food and Better Service,” and the Authentic Tastes of Mike’s Italian Kitchen.
Located at 7142 Knightdale Boulevard, Mike’s Italian Kitchen is the first to make our list of Top Restaurants in Knightdale. At their official website, mikesknightdale.com, they explain the inspiration behind initially opening their doors.
“We opened this kitchen for everyone to experience what Mike loves to do, Authentic Italian Cooking. ” The explanation continues as follows. “In our menu, we’ve incorporated traditional, authentic dishes along with some modern twists on Italian classics. We wanted to bring a little bit of everything we love about Italy to the Knightdale community.”
Mike’s vast menu features an array of pasta, pizzas, soups, salads, desserts, and authentic house specials. With such a variety, it is no surprise the local crowd keeps coming back for more. One specific customer summed up their experience with the following review.
“Everything was Perfect” at Mike’s Italian Kitchen
“Huge portions…as any Italian restaurant worth its weight should be. The kind, attentive staff made us feel like we were sitting down at home with comfortable unpretentious decor.” The customer continues, “The Avocado Bruschetta and Three Entree Meal were amazing! The bread and salad were both fresh. So much food we couldn’t eat it all and we even shared a plate knowing we couldn’t take leftovers.” She concludes, “I didn’t think to take pictures until after we had eaten some and shared the main plate but everything was perfect!”
A’Nets Katch: “This is the Place, For Fresh Fish”
Much as Mike’s have a “local niche” carved out for Italian cuisine, the next of the Top Restaurants in Knightdale is the town’s “go-to” for fresh seafood. Located at 2009 Village Park Drive, A’Nets Katch first opened in the Spring of 2009. At anetskatch.com, they tell of their scrumptious beginning.
“Annette Brown and Gregory Knish opened A’Nets Katch in the spring of 2009 with a vision of changing the way seafood was sold.” It continues to say, “Being Knightdale was one of the fastest-growing areas we decided to honor this town first. In the fall of 2011, it quickly became apparent we needed to add the kitchen.”
Moving from just selling the fresh seafood, to actually preparing and serving, A’Net’s Katch began taking off. “Once they were given room to experiment, they created quite the “outside the box” menu.” Their website goes on, “However, she never lost sight of the passion for creative seafood dishes. They knew that to create the dishes they wanted to share with the world, using only the freshest ingredients available, they would have to establish a unique restaurant of their own.”
With just about any type of seafood you could imagine, coupled with the passion detailed above customers began taking notice. One visiting couple fondly recalled their experience of this entry in our Top Restaurants in Knightdale.
Visitor Thinks A’Nets is a “Little Slice of Heaven”
“We are from Maryland and we were looking for some hot, steamed male blue crabs. We called all around the Raleigh area, but every place we called was sold out or they just had female crabs. I came across this restaurant on the internet so I called. Yes, they had male crabs. We jumped in the car and came all the way from Garner. Absolutely wonderful!!”
The reviewer gushed on, “Not only did we get crabs, we also tried the gator bites and some of the fried fish. We go to Florida to get gator all the time and their gator bites were the best we’ve ever had. The crabs were wonderful. They were very busy but the staff was all very friendly and accommodating. I feel like we found a little slice of heaven. We will be back.”
For the “Best Mexican Food Outside the Southwest, ” Head to El Señor
Continuing a theme, as with the two previous Restaurants in Knightdale, El Senor seems to have captured the local market for Mexican cuisine. Setting at 2001 Widewaters Parkway, Suite U, El Senor features authentic and always fresh Mexican food. At elsenormexican.com, they also speak of both their “mission” and view on serving the Knightdale community.

Visit our friendly staff, home-style dining areas, and a family-friendly environment.”
Likewise, their mission statement reads similarly, “We strive to provide a diverse menu that is compromised of home-style recipes at great prices.” It concludes, “We offer the most delicious and healthy food in a family-friendly atmosphere.”
Longtime Customer Sings Praises of El Señor
The public appears to totally agree with the sentiments expressed at their website. One loyal customer left the following glowing review of El Senor at Trip Advisor. “We have been patrons of El Senor since my wife was pregnant with my now 7 year old son. We have never, in almost 8 years ever had bad food or bad service.”
The customer goes on, “We have worked our way around the menu and have yet to be disappointed. What makes them special is that on occasion the bring new dishes to the menu that are a different take on that traditional fare. We have tried a few of these and they have always been fantastic.
“The waitstaff are extremely friendly and make sure your visit is perfect. Their homemade salsa is amazing.” He concluded, “I have only had dessert there once and had the fried ice cream and it was easily split between my wife, son and myself. If I want Mexican, I go to El Senor.”
